Application and Selection

From December to May, applications will be accepted in SF Match. The fellowship committee will not begin reviewing applications until January 15 with interviews to begin taking place in April. As of 2023, our subspecialty no longer accepts applications via ERAS. All of our spots have been placed into the San Francisco Match. Applicants not applying through SF Match will submit their applications via email to the Program Coordinator using the Common Fellowship Application.

A successful candidate will have passed the USMLE steps 1, 2, and 3 and be in position to complete an anesthesiology fellowship which would allow for entrance into the American Board of Anesthesiology certification process (or its equivalent). The candidate must also be able to apply for and obtain an Ohio State Medical training license.

All four ACGME positions for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship are in the San Francisco Match Program.

For those applying after the May deadline, the following pieces are required to apply when submitting your application via email to the program coordinator:

  • Common Fellowship Application
  • Three letters of recommendation (one must be from either program director, chair, or pediatric anesthesiology attending)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copy of anesthesiology in-training exam scores
  • Copies of USMLE steps 1, 2, and 3 scores
  • Copy of medical school transcript and Deans Letter (original not required, but needs to be legible)
