How the Recovery of Certain Immune Cells Affects Virus Infections in Kids After a Stem Cell Transplant
Phase: Recruiting
Condition(s): Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)
Other Study ID Number(s): HAdV IR
What Is the Purpose of This Study?
To use immune profiling (measuring CD4+, CD8+ T cell responses as well as NK cell activity against HAdV infection using intracellular cytokine staining) to identify allo-HSCT patients at highest risk for developing HAdV end organ disease.
Who Can Take Part in This Study?
- Patients from 6 months to 18 years old who receive an allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
What Will Happen During This Study?
Once patient has been enrolled, blood specimens will be collected at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months post-transplant. If the patient has detected HAdV IR then residual sample will be collected for any sample that was positive.
