Jordan Brauner, MD

- Research Interests: Interaction of the immune response in pediatric patients with Staphylococcus aureus infection
- What I like about fellowship: My co-fellows! I couldn’t ask for a more supportive group of people to train with.

Justin Julian, MD

- Research interests: simulation, medical education, optimizing prehospital care in critically ill patients
- What I like about fellowship: The supportive culture here is incredible. There have been numerous occasions where my co-fellows have gone out of their way to help each other, and the faculty are truly determined to help develop us as well-rounded intensivists (clinically and professionally).

Juan Cardenas Fimbres, MD

- Research Interests: I enjoy immunology and basic science research. Currently, my research focuses on understanding the immune response in patients with severe traumatic brain injuries, using rat models to analyze the pathways that could provoke immune paralysis.
- What I like about fellowship: What I appreciate most about the fellowship is how everyone is dedicated to helping you become the best version of yourself while maintaining an easygoing and professional work environment.

- What I like about fellowship: My favorite part about our fellowship is the supportive environment. From co-fellows to attendings the mentoring and support we receive both in and out of the hospital is amazing!

Kailey Remien, DO

- Pediatric Residency: Akron Children’s Hospital
- Research Interests: I am doing a dual fellowship in PCCM and clinical informatics. My research career goal is to use this education to understand and impact patient outcomes at the intersection of pediatric critical care and social epidemiology. I hope to use data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize patient health and quality of life in and outside of the PICU.
- What I like about fellowship: The people here are incredible. The attendings, nurses, RTs and obviously my co-fellows, make this tough job so much better. We're all there for each other during the hard times and celebrate even the smallest of wins! We are so well supported across the board and these people quickly become family.
