Help Researchers Create a Tool to Better Communicate Cardiovascular Disease Risk

What Is the Purpose of This Study?

Researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital hope to understand if parents think they are at risk for cardiovascular disease and if so, how they think about their child’s future risk for having the disease. Their goal is to create a visual tool to communicate cardiovascular disease risk.

Who Can Take Part in This Study?

You are eligible to participate if:

  • You are the parent of a school-age child (ages 6 to 11 years)
  • Your primary care provider is at Nationwide Children’s
  • You speak and read English fluently

What Will Happen During This Study?

You will:

  • Complete surveys that will take 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Do a biometric screening (height and weight) during or immediately following your child’s well-child visit
  • Complete a 60-minute virtual interview after your child’s visit (*This is optional)

Will We Be Paid for This Study?

Yes, you will be compensated for your time.
