Kylie Dougherty, PhD, RN is a Nurse Scientist in the Center for Nursing Excellence at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Associate faculty member in the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research (CCHEOR) in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute. She also serves as affiliate faculty at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and adjunct lecturer at Rice University’s Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies.

Dr. Dougherty’s work focuses on improving maternal, newborn and child health outcomes for vulnerable populations while strengthening the ability of health systems to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. Her research integrates implementation science, global health and health equity to better understand how clinical teams adopt and sustain effective practices in real-world settings. She has led and contributed to research across diverse contexts, including the United States and sub-Saharan Africa, including work with the NEST360 Alliance to support the scale-up of evidence-based care for small and sick newborns.

At Nationwide Children’s, Dr. Dougherty leads initiatives to support nurse-led research and clinical inquiry, working closely with frontline clinicians to build research capacity and embed evidence-based care into routine practice. Her work emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and centers on empowering clinical teams to drive meaningful improvements in care.

Cailin Coane began her career at Nationwide Children's as a library services specialist in the Medical Library in September 2019. In January 2022, she became a clinical research coordinator in the Center for Nursing Excellence and coordinates nurse-led clinical projects. She also writes narratives for the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet designation for nursing.

Kimberly Jordan, CEAP, experienced administrative professional with a strong background supporting research, clinical and scientific teams in fast paced, mission driven environments. Throughout her career at organizations including Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Battelle, she has provided high level administrative, project and operational support to senior leaders, principal investigators and multidisciplinary teams of 20 to over 100 staff.

Samantha Boch

Samantha Boch, PhD, MS, RN, is a nurse scientist and principal investigator in the Center of Nursing Excellence and Center of Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is also an affiliated faculty member at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing and The Ohio State University College of Nursing. Her program of research centers on the social risk influences of health with a primary interest in understanding and mitigating the consequences of incarceration on child and family health and health service delivery. She has been continuously funded at the local, state, national and federal levels. Dr. Boch is committed to applying her research findings and expertise to inform care and policy and serves as a member on the state-wide Juvenile Justice and Mental Health task force, the Franklin County Re-entry Advisory Board and the Juvenile Justice Coalition.

Molly Kelleher
Affiliate Researcher

Molly earned both her bachelor's degree (2021) and her master's in social work (2022) from The Ohio State University. She currently works as a therapist and has four years of experience as a school social worker, supporting children and adolescents within educational settings. Prior to her clinical work, she gained research experience at The Ohio State University College of Education, where she contributed to research focused on homelessness and substance use.

Her professional and research experiences have shaped her interest in the intersection of public health and education, particularly as it relates to childhood development. Molly is especially interested in addressing public health challenges within schools an exploring how early developmental and environmental factors impact long-term outcomes for youth.
