What Is the Purpose of This Study?
The study’s goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the link between COVID-19 and diabetes that can guide future treatment interventions and public health approaches.
Who Can Take Part in This Study?
People who may be eligible for this study are:
- Diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes in the last 3 months
- Age 11 years or older
- Had — or didn’t have — COVID-19 recently

What Will Happen During This Study?
- People will be surveyed by phone, online or in person and will provide regular blood samples.
- A subset of participants may participate in additional tests that measure pancreas activity, biomarkers and blood vessel stiffness.
- Participants will be followed for two years. The study will also examine electronic health record data.
