Post-Baccalaureate Training Program
In 2017, the Post-Baccalaureate Training Program was created to support the professional development of research staff in the Center for Biobehavioral Health and Center for Childhood Equity Outcomes and Research.
Program Description
One year program* for current Research Staff employees designed to support the professional development of clinical research coordinators who are planning to apply to graduate programs in the health sciences. The Program hosts monthly in person seminars, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, lasting approximately 1 hour each. We aim to bridge the connection between Post-Baccs and experienced research professionals, providing an experience that enriches Post-Bacc research coordinators’ repertoire of research skills and espouses their transition to graduate and medical school. Program participants receive feedback from experts in fields like Clinical Psychology, Public Health, School Psychology, Medicine, and Epidemiology. This additional expertise can serve to enrich the experience of the Post-Bacc coordinators outside of day-to-day lab work.
*While this is a one-year program, many CRCs are employed in CBH for 2+ years. CRCs can choose to complete the program during either year of their employment and/or complete the program for one year and audit the second year.
Membership Expectations
Program participants are required to complete a survey at the beginning and end of the program, get approval from their PI, and attend at least 75% of the seminars in person.

Seminars are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month from 12pm – 1pm.
