Internal Medicine - Pediatric Residency
The Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital has a long-standing history of training excellence. The combined program prepares residents to succeed in care for patients of all ages, readying them for advancement into the next stage of their career: whether it be in primary care, fellowship, academics, international medicine, hospital medicine, public health or advocacy.
Established in 1985 our Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Training Program has a long-standing tradition of combined training excellence. Our program trains 40 Med-Peds residents (10 per class) producing a diverse and supportive community of resident physicians. Between The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children's Hospital, we boast a nation-leading 80+ Med-Peds trained faculty representing nearly every Division within Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Our robust Med-Peds presence provides residents ample opportunities for mentorship as well as exposure to many combined, general, and subspecialty career pathways including a large offering of transition focused fields. Nationally ranked free standing, tertiary care facilities afford residents exposure to cutting edge medicine and research. Our free standing, dedicated, multidisciplinary Med-Peds Resident Continuity Clinic provides residents an innovative ambulatory training experience.

Match Day 2024
We’ve wrapped up recruitment season and are excited to share the results of another successful match for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Residency Programs. This summer we will have 57 new residents joining us: 42 Pediatric, 10 Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and 5 Child Neurology. We are highly impressed by the caliber of the new physicians who will begin training with us this July.
We look forward to welcoming them to the Nationwide Children's family and guiding them on the path to becoming the next generation of pediatrician leaders.
