Adult Congenital Heart Disease Fellowship
The Columbus Ohio Adult Congenital Heart Disease (COACH) Fellowship Program is designed for those interested in a cardiovascular career specializing in the care of adults with congenital heart disease.
The Columbus Ohio Adult Congenital Heart Disease (COACH) Fellowship Program offers two fully-funded, 24-month fellowship positions (one each year).
The Schooler Family Foundation’s COACH Fellowship Program and hospital-based GME funded fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University is designed for those interested in a cardiovascular career specializing in the care of adults with congenital heart disease.
What You Need to Know
Curriculum
- 24 months of ACGME-accredited ACHD training
- Split between The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital
- Core set of ACHD curriculum and tailored pathways based upon the fellows background and training, i.e., if background is pediatric cardiology, more time is dedicated to internal medicine cardiology; and if training is internal medicine cardiology, more time dedicated to pediatric cardiology
- Monthly ACHD fellow didactic and education meetings
- Fully funded MPH available during ACHD Fellowship for those with particular research potential

Research

As a top-ten free-standing pediatric research center and an academic affiliate of The Ohio State University, The Research Institute has an outstanding faculty, dedicated to training and mentoring the next generation of scientists in pediatric research.

Advocacy
Advocacy training fosters and encourages interest in child advocacy by early involvement and exposure to its many aspects such as addressing social determinants of health, community collaboration, health finance, health policy and legislative advocacy.
Application Process
Applicants for the fellowship program must be registered with Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) using the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) match rules.
