Amrik Singh Khalsa, MD, is a clinician investigator and assistant professor at the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research and Primary Care Pediatrics at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He is dual medically trained and board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and has research expertise in observational research design, community-engaged research, and intergenerational obesity prevention. His research focuses on reducing disparities and improving outcomes in parental and childhood obesity and its co-morbidities (like cardiovascular disease) through research in primary care prevention.

Amanda earned her master of public health with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences from Kent State University and a bachelor of science in public health from The Ohio State University. She has an interest in the impact of social determinants of health and health behavior on population health outcomes. Influenced by experiences in the nonprofit setting, her specific public health challenges of interest are food insecurity, childhood health and nutrition and poverty.

Graduating from The Ohio State University in 2023, Alec has a combined four years of clinical and non-clinical research experience, as a well as a passion for serving diverse communities. This role is helping Alec get more proximate to health care disparities in different communities, and he plans to implement what he is learning in this lab further down his career path, with his goal being to practice medicine.

Robbie is a junior at The Ohio State University pursuing a degree in Exercise Science on the pre-med track. With over ten years in the fitness industry, he has extensive experience supporting lifestyle behavior changes for adults and children in the areas of physical activity, exercise and nutrition. He is a graduate of the REaCH program under the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he developed a passion for research. Robbie actively engages with marginalized and minority communities through fitness, aiming to create inclusive spaces that promote health and well-being. His mission is to build a life of care through muscles, movement and medicine.
