Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices

• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with several guidelines including:
  • AWRI
  • NCI’s Best Practices for Biospecimen Resources
  • International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories’ (ISBER) Best Practices for Repositories
  • College of American Pathologists
• All SOPs and the BPC’s Quality Management System (QMS) are in compliance with the LAP and/or BAP CAP requirements

Biospecimen Processing

• Biospecimen processing for downstream testing, banking and distribution
  • WBC fractionation and storage for viably cryopreserved cells
  • WBC, serum and plasma separation
  • Nucleic acid extraction
  • Other sample processing, i.e. stool, CSF

Pathology Review and Laboratory Services

• Services to facilitate the confirmation of patient eligibility or for randomization and/or stratification including coordinating biospecimens for:
  • Scanning stained slides to an Aperio digital image (20X or 40X)
  • Digital pathology / virtual microscopy
  • Pre-analytic processing for molecular or other testing
