Treatment of Congenital Femoral Deficiency (CFD) in an Adolescent Patient
This case involves an adolescent patient who developed a fixed superior hip dislocation after a femoral lengthening procedure performed at another hospital. The situation was made more complicated by infection, joint degeneration, and a major difference in leg length. Despite previous efforts—including a pelvic osteotomy and multiple debridements—the hip remained unstable and painful, leading to worsening function and limited mobility. Given the complexity, the team needed to find a creative solution that would not only correct the hip position but also support the patient’s long-term mobility and quality of life.
