Behavioral Health Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) Internship Program

  • Nationwide Children’s Behavioral Health MFT Internship program is a continuous 11 month or two semester placement.                                  
  • The program benefits trainees who are working toward graduation/licensure and are interested in specialization in providing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families

What You Need To Know

Curriculum

Behavioral Health services are provided by multidisciplinary teams which may include clinical social workers, clinical counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychiatrists and nurses.

During Internship placement, interns will complete a continuous 11-month or two semester placement at 10-15 hours per week. Interns will be assigned to a clinical team, and have the opportunity to participate fully on the team. Internship will include training, team collaboration, and direct client care. Interns will be under the supervision of a Nationwide Children’s Hospital AAMFT Approved Supervisor or AAMFT Approved Supervisor Candidate.

All applicants must be able to meet the weekly and annual time requirements for the internship program to be considered.

Salary & Benefits

MFT interns are not eligible for salary or benefits.

Application & Selection

Prospective interns must be actively enrolled in a COAMFT accredited Marriage and Family Therapy program. To apply all applicants will need to as well as have obtained their Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee license (MFT-T).
