Behavioral Health Treatment Insights and Provider Support (BH-TIPS)

Our goal is to support primary care providers in the management of children and adolescents with behavioral health concerns in the primary care setting. We offer educational consultation and information about resources in their communities for timely access to care.

How Does It Work?

  1. Schedule an Appointment: Morning and lunch hours are available. We also offer consultations for patients with autism who have complex histories and require more specialized, longer discussions.
  2. Fill out a brief form included in the appointment confirmation email to provide background information and your specific questions for our team.
  3. Join the video conference via Zoom at your appointment time to meet with the psychiatrist and social worker.
  4. Receive a consultation summary and resources discussed during the appointment.

When To Consider BH-TIPS

Consider BH-TIPs to receive virtual consultation regarding:

  • Screening, assessment and diagnostic clarification
  • Principles of medication and non-medication management to fit the specific clinical needs
  • Information about available behavioral health resources and linkages in your local community
  • Follow-up from a previous consultation

Where To Go for Additional Support

Virtual appointments are not appropriate and should not be used for:

  • Emergencies and crises: Consider presenting to the ER, contact Physician Direct Connect or call 988 or 911.
  • Expediting referral to psychiatry: If you have case-related updates or want to check on the status of a referral, please reach out to Behavioral Health central intake at (614) 355-8080.
  • Same-day urgent assistance and acute safety: Consider MRSS.
