Research Faculty Careers
The Abigail Wexner Research Institute (AWRI) at Nationwide Children’s is ranked among the top 10 freestanding children’s hospitals based on NIH funding. On a continuing trajectory of rapid growth, AWRI’s research expenditures – both internal and external – have grown from roughly $100 million to more than $200 million over the last decade.
AWRI encompasses more than 550,000 square feet of dedicated pediatric research space across three buildings on the Nationwide Children’s campus. A fourth state-of-the-art research building of 300,000 square feet is under construction and slated to open in early 2023.
The centers comprising the research institute are structured to support multidisciplinary team science and discovery through the provision of dedicated laboratory and office space and shared resources. Each center is home to faculty members who work collaboratively, along with talented staff, graduate students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and other students.
