Nationwide Children's Named to U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll for 13th Consecutive Year

Nationwide Children’s has been named to the U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for the 13th consecutive year. One of only 10 children's hospitals in the nation to receive this top distinction for excellence in pediatric healthcare, Nationwide Children’s also is recognized as tied for No. 1 in Ohio and the Midwest.

For the third year, U.S. News has not given numbered rankings to its 10 Honor Roll hospitals, and instead lists them alphabetically. The publication does recognize the best hospitals in each state and region and specialty services with numerical rankings. Nationwide Children’s also ranks among the top 10 hospitals in seven of 10 pediatric specialties and for the third year, U.S. News & World Report has recognized Nationwide Children’s among the “Top 50” pediatric hospitals for Behavioral Health Services. This list recognizes the “Top 50” without specific, individual rankings.

For the 2026-2027 rankings, U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research firm, collected and analyzed data from 114 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, compliance with established best practices, and level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care. Warren D. Lo, MD, Chairs Peer Review for New AHA/ASA Adult Stroke Rehabilitation Guideline

Warren D. Lo, MD, served as chair of the Peer Review Committee for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s 2026 Guideline for Adult Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery, published August 27 in Stroke. This comprehensive update replaces the organizations’ 2016 guideline and provides new and revised recommendations across the continuum of stroke rehabilitation and recovery, including motor recovery, cognition and communication, technology-enabled rehabilitation, caregiver support and transitions of care. The American Academy of Neurology has affirmed the guideline’s value as an educational tool for neurologists.

Dr. Lo is associate director of the Stroke and Vascular Anomalies Clinic at Nationwide Children’s, where his clinical and research interests focus on stroke in infants and children. His leadership of the guideline’s peer review represents national recognition of his expertise in stroke recovery and rehabilitation and places a pediatric stroke specialist in a key role in a major multidisciplinary effort to advance stroke care.

 

2027 Medical Leadership Program

The Medical Leadership Program (MLP) is a 10-month leadership program that consists of two monthly in-person 60-minute sessions. The program also includes quarterly peer sessions with an assigned coach. Prior to each class, participants will complete short online assignments to prepare them for each interactive, experiential session.

Program Goals

  • Develop early and mid-career physicians (approximately 5 to 8 years in practice) with demonstrated leadership strengths
  • Cultivate leaders to effectively navigate challenges and opportunities while building and supporting Nationwide Children’s culture and values
  • Engage participants with a physician mentor and peer coach to provide guidance and support
  • Prepare physician leaders with leadership competencies to be successful in future leadership roles
