Delia Gold, MD, Recognized as Nationwide Children’s Physician of the Year
Nationwide Children’s is proud to recognize Delia Gold, MD, section chief of Emergency Medicine, as its Physician of the Year. Colleagues credit Dr. Gold with helping transform the culture of Emergency Medicine through a leadership approach grounded in positivity, transparency and trust. She has played a key role in aligning physician staffing with nursing and emergency services teams, streamlining decision making and ensuring that faculty and staff have regular opportunities for feedback and discussion.
Her leadership has also helped support the successful recruitment and integration of more than 15 physicians and 10 advanced practice providers, an especially significant achievement given the scale and importance of the Emergency Department. In addition to her operational and cultural leadership, Dr. Gold has inspired changes in pediatric emergency departments across the country. She continues to help shape the future of emergency care at Nationwide Children’s through planning for the new hospital tower emergency department and expansion efforts in New Albany.
Match Day 2026
The Nationwide Children’s Pediatric Residency programs have wrapped up recruitment season and are excited to share the results of another successful match. In July, 57 new residents will begin their training. The new physicians represent 39 schools across 21 states and four international programs, including 42 Pediatric, 10 Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and five Child Neurology residents.

New Outpatient Facilities to Expand Local Pediatric Care in Northwest Ohio
Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Toledo recently announced a planned $100 to $150 million investment to expand pediatric care across the Toledo region over the next five years. The investment will support the construction of two new, state-of-the-art pediatric medical facilities designed to maximize patient safety and experience, enhance care and create capacity to recruit additional providers so children in northwest Ohio can receive more care close to home.
The new facilities will house a range of outpatient pediatric services, including but not limited to ancillary diagnostic testing, therapy services, behavioral health programs and clinic space for pediatric primary care and specialty providers. Read the full press release online.
