Prescribing Nature: Introducing the Ohio ParkRx Program
Looking for a simple, evidence-based way to support your patients’ physical and mental well-being? The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has launched the Ohio ParkRx program, empowering health care providers to prescribe time in nature as part of a holistic care plan.
With Ohio’s variety of parks and trails, nature is a free and accessible resource for families across the state. You can use the Ohio ParkRx prescription pad to recommend outdoor activities or direct families to the website to explore free programs at state parks. Whether it’s a walk in the woods, a family hike or a quiet moment by the water, nature prescriptions can be tailored to each patient’s needs and abilities. Learn more on the Ohio Department of Natural Resources website.
