Tara Floyd, MPH, BSN, RN, NE-BC: Chief Nursing Officer
Tara Floyd, MPH, BSN, RN, NE-BC, is the senior vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. In her roles, she leads the hospital’s largest employee group, with more than 4,000 nurses and 6,000 additional patient care staff across 60+ locations.
Before joining Nationwide Children’s, Tara spent two decades as a nurse and leader at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., ultimately serving as that organization’s vice president and associate chief nursing officer. As a frontline registered nurse, Tara has cared for critically ill infants in neonatal intensive care units; as a nursing manager, director and executive, she has improved health outcomes in the United States’ best pediatric health care systems.
Tara holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Arts in natural sciences (biology) from Bard College at Simons Rock and a Master of Public Health (maternal and child health) from Boston University.
