LEADING THE TRANSFORMATION OF CHILD HEALTH

At Nationwide Children’s Hospital, we’re redefining what it means to care for children and their families — in Ohio and around the world. We remain steadfast in our mission to improve health outcomes for all children, even those who may never set foot on our campus. From pioneering gene therapies to world-class behavioral health programs and a national model for population health, we are expanding what it means to advance child well-being. Our success is fueled by the aspirations of our community and the dedication of our teams. Guided by our One Team values and culture, we achieve excellence beyond expectation — meeting challenges, celebrating accomplishments and leading the transformation of child health to achieve best outcomes for every child, everywhere.

Tim Robinson, Nationwide Children's Hospital CEO

“We often say at Nationwide Children’s Hospital that where a child’s health is concerned, we care about everything. That means we’re focused on clinical services and research, of course. But we also feel a duty to impact families’ access to care, the quality of our patients’ homes, the educational opportunities available to them and so much more. With this annual report, I hope you’ll find the many ways we approach this mission.”

INTRODUCING THE 2026-2030 STRATEGIC PLAN

The 2026-2030 strategic plan is not a revolution, but an evolution of the 2021-2026 plan. As we continue to press forward, we are committed to expanding, accelerating and leading the work that is already happening.

  • Expanding research for mental and behavioral health, building on our nation-leading system of mental health care, and improving access for families and support for our remarkable behavioral health team
  • Accelerating precision medicine by focusing on genomic testing for diagnosis and building a future where genomic information becomes an integrated part of the medical record, driving the care plan
  • Leading with our trailblazing whole-child model beyond clinical walls with additional investments in school-based health, rural outreach and social determinants of health to ensure every child can thrive
