The Section of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive primary and consultative services for the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine/hormone disorders and diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents. We offer multidisciplinary care for complex chronic medical conditions that impact the endocrine systems. The section has a strong national presence in the realm of quality improvement for diabetes.
How Are Insulin Pumps Being Utilized for Patients with Type 1 Diabetes?
Kajal K. Gandhi, DO, MPH, an endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s, recently led an observational study that examined trends in insulin pump use compared with multiple daily injection (MDI) insulin regimens and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) trends, as well as A1C and rates of adverse outcomes within the members of T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative. The collaborative is a multicenter initiative of more than 40 data-sharing clinical centers throughout the United States.
The Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship is a three-year program that provides physicians an excellent opportunity to achieve clinical, research and academic training with exposure to routine and rare cases in endocrinology.
