The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is dedicated to developing promising new technologies to advance the practice of pediatric health care. This commitment includes providing researchers with the highest quality resources to support translating discoveries into products that benefit children everywhere.
Drug and Device Development Services
Drug and Device Development Services exist to help our medical faculty and investigators get from pre-clinical to clinical trials, as well as guide external partners and collaborators through the regulatory landscape, including submissions to the FDA.
The current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Production Facility, also known as the Clinical Manufacturing Facility (CMF), specializes in the production of recombinant adeno-associated viral vectors (rAAV) for use by faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and external collaborators.
The Office of Technology Commercialization works with Nationwide Children’s doctors, nurses, researchers, and other staff members to translate ideas and innovations into the commercial sector, bringing about new patents, startup companies and inventions.
