Volunteer News and Notes

We will update this section as new announcements are available. However, you are always encouraged to communicate with your coordinator or the staff in the area where you volunteer if you are not able to find the answer to the question you are looking for.

Clubhouse Volunteers – New Email

Attention Clubhouse volunteers—you can email the Clubhouse staff at Clubhousevol@NationwideChildrens.org if you have scheduling questions, if you are going to be off, or if you just want to chat!  Please add this email to your contact list.

Gel In... Gel Out

Hand hygiene is important for all. Make sure you are either using hand gel or soap and water every time you enter and exit a patient’s room.  If you have questions, please email Volunteering@NationwideChildrens.org

Dress Policy

NO shorts, blue jeans, leggings, or open toed shoes. Skirts are permitted if they are knee length or longer. Scrubs are permitted if they are khaki or black.

Remember, teens need to wear khaki pants and the uniform polo when volunteering. All volunteers need to be in closed-toe shoes and wearing their photo name badge.

Returning Volunteers

  • Please contact Family & Volunteer Services to learn what steps you need to complete prior to your return to volunteer. Our team will ensure your annual retraining, background check and health requirements are up to date.
  • If it has been more than 13 months since your last date of volunteering, you will need to start the application and onboarding process from the beginning.
