Adam Ostendorf, MD, is the associate division chief of research at Nationwide Children's and associate professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is also the medical co-director of the Epilepsy Surgery Program—one of the largest pediatric programs in the United States—offering state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary treatment for children with severe seizure disorders.
He completed medical school at the University of Iowa, followed by residency in pediatric neurology and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology/pediatric epilepsy at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis. He is board-certified in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology, clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy.
Dr. Ostendorf’s primary clinical and research interests focus on the treatment of severe seizures and improving the quality of life for people with epilepsy. He is the principal investigator for an NIH-funded multicenter clinical trial aimed at improving treatment for life-threatening prolonged seizures. He also extensively studies epilepsy surgery practices and outcomes, with the goal of improving the lives of people with epilepsy. Dr. Ostendorf serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Epilepsy Centers and is a member of the American Epilepsy Society.
