Adam Ostendorf, MD, is the Associate Division Chief of Research at Nationwide Children's Hospital and associate professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is the medical director of the epilepsy surgery program, one of the largest pediatric programs in the U.S. providing state-of-the-art multidisciplinary treatment for severe seizure disorders.
He completed medical school at The University of Iowa, followed by residency in pediatric neurology and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology/pediatric epilepsy at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis. He is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and epilepsy.
His primary clinical and research interests are treating severe seizures and improving quality of life. He is the principal investigator for an NIH-funded clinical trial aimed at improving treatment for life-threatening prolonged seizures. Dr. Ostendorf extensively studies epilepsy surgery practices and outcomes with the goal or improving the lives of people with epilepsy. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Epilepsy Society, and he serves in multiple leadership roles within the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
