The overall goal of this third annual symposium is to provide a current, high-level summary of the state-of-the-art regarding mechanisms and management of congenital obstructive uropathy (COU) due to anatomic or functional bladder outlet obstruction, highlighting knowledge gaps and making recommendations about next steps for research to guide the care of patients at all phases of their disease course. This includes mechanisms of COU, fetal interventions, diagnostic studies, biomarkers to prognosticate fetal and postnatal care, and both short-term and long-term clinical outcomes. A facilitated round table session at the conference’s conclusion will provide opportunities to discuss research opportunities and priorities, to achieve the best future for children with COU.
