Thomas Pommering

Thomas Pommering, DO, is the founder and the division chief of Sports Medicine at Nationwide Children’s. He attended college at the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated, cum laude, with a degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology. He attended medical school at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio; did an internship at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and was chief resident in his Family Medicine Residency at Miami Valley Hospital/Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. From there, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Nutrition at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Dr. Pommering has published over 65 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts. He is a professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Family Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and associate professor of Specialty Medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also the head team physician for Ohio Dominican University and Grandview Heights High School.
