Clergy and Faith Group Resources

The Spiritual Care Department is grateful for our clergy and faith group partners who provide care and support to the members of their community when they are hospitalized at Nationwide Children’s. In return, we are available as a resource to you and your community of faith.

The primary areas we can be in partnership with you include:

Clergy Visitation
We can help facilitate your visit; provide resources during your visit (e.g., religious or ritual items); provide religious resources to your families; or provide a chaplain when you are unable to visit. We also provide free parking, which can be obtained at the D-Lobby Information Desk.

Faith Specific Contacts
The Spiritual Care Department maintains a list of contacts from diverse community faith groups to facilitate contact between patient families and their faith traditions when desired by the family.

Community and Educational Resources
Our department can provide spiritual care education tailored to your specific community of faith on topics such as pediatric behavioral health, caring for sick or injured children and their families, grief support for families who have lost a child and other areas related to children and spiritual care.

Clinical Pastoral Education
Nationwide Children’s is an ACPE Accredited site for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), a clinical training program for clergy and lay persons who want to gain or improve spiritual care skills in a pediatric clinical setting. Detailed information about our CPE program may be found here.
