Salary Information
Salaries for 2024-2025 pediatric residents are:
- PL-1: $66,794.33
- PL-2: $69,481.43
- PL-3: $71,474.84
- PL-4: $73,364.38
- PL-5: $76,272.17
- PL-6: $79,272.17
- PL-7: $82,351.36
- PL-8: $85,717.69
- PL-9: $89,963.73
- PL-10: $93,566.40
- PL-11: $97,315.52
- PL-12: $101,202.00
Paid Relocation
A “matched student” moving greater than 50 miles to Columbus will receive assistance with relocation expenses.
Paid Time-Off
- PL-1 YEAR: 21 days vacation + 6 days holiday break
- PL-2 YEAR: 21 days vacation + conference time (per guidelines) + 6 days holiday break
- PL-3 YEAR: 21 days vacation + conference time (per guidelines) + 6 days holiday break
- (Holiday break is taken over Christmas or New Year’s)
Paid Leave
18 Days over three years.
Uses: Personal illness; family illness; bereavement
Academic Fund
- PL-1 YEAR - $500
- PL-2 YEAR - $500
- PL-3 YEAR - $900
Uses: Professional meetings; medical books; journals; software; professional memberships, etc.
Paid Meals
- Monthly meal allowance on ward, ICU and night float rotations
- Catered evening meals on weekends
- Coffee service in resident center
Paid Fees
- Paid training license and USMLE or COMLEX Step 3 fees
- Paid parking fees at Nationwide Children's Hospital and The Ohio State University
- Paid AAP membership
Lab Coats and Scrubs Provided
- Two lab coats or one lab coat and one fleece jacket
- Three sets of scrubs
Sponsored Life Support Certs and Renewals
- AAP's Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and Recertification
- Basic Life Support Recertification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification and Recertification

On-Site Child Care
Children's has an on-site child care facility that is available to all employees. Early registration is encouraged due to limited class size.
