Affinity Groups and Fundraising Volunteers

Nationwide Children’s Hospital was founded on the innovation, motivation and dedication of volunteers. Through the years, their commitment has continued to mold Nationwide Children’s into a community treasure. Today, as the Hospital grows to serve over 1 million patients a year, the need for dedicated volunteers has never been greater. 

The following are short descriptions of the unique fundraising volunteer opportunities available. Thank you for getting involved!

The Development Board is a dynamic group of Columbus area business professionals committed to raising funds to support various programs at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The group was founded in 1971. Since that time membership has grown to approximately 150 members (both active and lifetime status).

Butterfly Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital is an organization of women committed to raising funds for Hospice and Palliative programs at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and trace their roots to the hospital’s beginnings. Butterfly Guild is one of the oldest women’s organizations in Columbus, originating in the 1890s.

TWIG is groups of women throughout central Ohio who support Nationwide Children’s Hospital through a wide variety of fundraising projects. TWIG groups operate independently, as well as participate in larger projects as a whole organization. Since their inception, they have raised more than $25 million to support patient care, education and research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. TWIG- Together With Important Goals

The Women's Board was part of the original vision of the hospital when it was founded in 1892. For more than 120 years, the Women's Board has been serving the hospital and raising funds to support the hospital's mission of providing outstanding health care to all children, no matter what their family's financial situation. 

Special Event Volunteers are individuals who wish to give of their time but aren't necessarily able to join a fundraising volunteer group. Simply complete the Special Event Volunteer Application and we will notify you of upcoming special event volunteer opportunities. Organization representatives should also complete an application to be notified of volunteer opportunities for your group.
