The Development Board is a dynamic group of Columbus area business professionals who are committed to raising funds to support various programs at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Membership Information
The Development Board welcomes vibrant professionals to join throughout the year, though we encourage new members to begin at the start of the calendar year. A referral from a current member is not required for membership; however, a strong desire and passion for volunteering and supporting the Hospital’s mission are essential. Numerous events and volunteer opportunities allow prospective members to engage with the Development Board community and make a meaningful impact in support of the Hospital.

The Development Board supports Nationwide Children's Hospital through several events throughout the year, including:
Columbus Duck Race
The Columbus Duck Race takes place down a GIANT slip ‘n slide. The race attracts thousands of participants for family and children’s activities and fun. The rubber duck race itself is a mass splash of thousands of ducks and is truly something to see. The Columbus Duck Race gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children by simply buying a rubber duck racer.
Woody Hayes Celebrity Classic, a featured event of Play Yellow
The Woody Hayes Celebrity Classic is the signature fundraising event of the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The outing functions as a 4-person team golf scramble with assigned tee times. Golfers enjoy a day of golf that includes breakfast, lunch, on course snacks and drinks.
Rock 'n Bowl
Dust off your bowling shoes and join the Development Board of Nationwide Children's Hospital at Columbus Square Bowling Palace. The day consists of 3 – two-hour bowling sessions with a complimentary pre-session happy hour for all bowlers. Bowling teams enjoy raffles, live entertainment and the option to have pizza delivered to their lane! Rock ‘N Bowl currently benefits The Center for Family Safety and Healing. Form a team of five and raise funds to help break the cycle of family violence. Minimum team commitment is $500.
Re-Slice
ReSlice, a twist on the historic Slice of Columbus, lets attendees have unlimited samples of pizzas from local Columbus shops.
All Rise: Raising the Bar for Kids
The Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital invites the Central Ohio legal community to a morning of fun, networking, and giving back. Join us for duck-pin bowling, games, face-painting, raffles, food, and more, all while raising vital funds for Lawyers for Kids – a unique medical-legal partnership at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Pay it Forward
The Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital invites you to attend Pay it Forward, a formal benefit gala featuring a silent auction, exciting raffles, interactive games, and more – all in support of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
