What to Expect on the Day of Your Child's Surgery

Child Life Surgery Tours

Surgery for a child is an experience that involves the entire family. Nationwide Children’s Surgery Unit has an on-site tour, provided by child life specialists, to help both families and the patient understand what to expect when coming for surgery. We provide individual tours with time to explore medical equipment and answer any questions you or your child may have.

  • For children ages three years and up
  • Offered Tuesday through Thursday starting at 3 p.m.
  • Tours typically last anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour
