Due to recommendations from the CDC and Ohio Department of Health regarding the COVID-19 virus, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has decided to cancel all 2021 Rehab events. Learn more about COVID-19.
Inpatient rehabilitation is an intensive, personal experience. And patients and families develop close connections with other patients and families, as well as their physicians, nurses, therapists and other care providers.
These connections often remain long after patients leave our program. That is why Nationwide Children's Hospital hosts social activities (invitation only) at no cost to our patients and families. These gatherings provide a unique opportunity for everyone to reunite and continue their special relationships.
The Rehab Prom is an annual event for Inpatient Rehabilitation graduates who are 12 years and older. The prom, which is held on a Saturday evening in the spring at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, is a fun-filled night of socialization, dancing and entertainment. It is also a time for patients to reconnect with friends and Rehab staff members. Rehab graduates will receive invitations and are welcome to bring one guest. Parents may accompany the graduate; however, parents are requested to remain outside of the prom to allow for peer interaction and independence. A nearby area will be provided for parents.
The Rehab Reunion takes place every other year for Inpatient Rehabilitation graduates and their immediate family members. We are currently exploring new programming options to best serve you and your family. You may receive a survey from us as we gather feedback for future events. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at RehabEvents@NationwideChildrens.org.
Rehab Camp is an overnight experience for Inpatient Rehabilitation graduates only who are 8 years and older, no matter their level of disability. The event takes place at Recreation Unlimited, a fully-accessible camp located in Ashley, Ohio. Rehab graduates enjoy summertime adventures, such as swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, rock climbing and more. Nationwide Children’s Hospital therapists, nurses and volunteers serve as “camp counselors,” and the Recreation Unlimited staff coordinates and facilitates all camp activities. Only Rehab graduates will receive invitations and registration information.
