Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition: Why Us?

US News Honor Roll 2024-2025

US News and World Report for Gastroenterology

Consistently ranked as a top digestive disorders program by U.S. News & World Report, the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s provides comprehensive care for a broad range of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic and nutritional problems in addition to providing advanced endoscopic techniques.

The division opened a new, state-of-the-art interventional endoscopy suite in 2024, fully equipped with three different endoscopy systems, a 3D C-arm, and multimedia capabilities to locally broadcast and store data. These new capabilities complement the work of our growing Interventional Endoscopy program.

Nationwide Children’s is one of only a few centers offering per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) procedures for children with achalasia, and the only center providing G-POEM for gastroparesis in children. We were also the first center in the United States to livestream a POEM procedure at a conference in 2023.
