Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Infection Prevention and Control Policy
Despite significant progress in treating cystic fibrosis (CF), lung infection caused by bacteria, viruses, yeasts and molds, remains a serious problem for those with CF. To help combat these infections, the Nationwide Children’s CF Center follows the infection prevention and control policy established by the CF Foundation. Originally released in 2003, the recommendations were recently revised to reduce the risk of people with CF spreading or acquiring dangerous germs from one another at gatherings, such as CF events, or in public places, such as waiting rooms.
