Nationwide Children’s Hospital Names Jason Newland, MD, MEd, Chief of Infectious Diseases
Nationwide Children’s Hospital welcomes Jason Newland, MD, MEd, as the division chief of Infectious Diseases and an associate investigator in the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s. Dr. Newland is also a tenured professor at The Ohio State University and will hold the Cramblett Endowed Chair in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.

Under the direction of Christina Ching, MD, the Ching Lab uses a mouse model of infection to understand the host response to urinary tract infection. In addition, the lab performs in vitro simulation of infection and collects human urine samples to look for differences in components of the urine in those individuals susceptible to infection.
