Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Toledo proudly welcomes Megan Crippen, MD, as northwest Ohio’s first dedicated pediatric rheumatologist.
(Toledo, Ohio) – Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Toledo proudly welcomes Megan Crippen, MD, as northwest Ohio’s first dedicated pediatric rheumatologist, providing local care to children and families beginning September 8.
Dr. Crippen joins Nationwide Children’s - Toledo following the completion of her fellowship training in pediatric rheumatology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her hometown community.

Dr. Crippen will see patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital - Toledo Sylvania Outpatient Specialty Clinics – home to sports medicine and orthopedics – at 7640 W. Sylvania Ave., Suite E Sylvania, OH 43560. She will diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis and dermatomyositis, systemic lupus erythematosus and sclerosis and other rheumatic diseases of the joints, soft tissue and connective tissue. Her services will include diagnostic evaluations, care coordination, infusion therapy planning and patient education to support long-term treatment plans.

Dr. Crippen earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Michigan. She then pursued advanced subspecialty training in pediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York -Presbyterian/Weill Cornell in New York City, where she also completed a master’s degree in health policy and economics. Dr. Crippen is a pediatric rheumatologist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of Rheumatology.
