Meet Our Team

Megan Crippen, MD

Megan A. Crippen

Megan A. Crippen, MD, MS, is the first fellowship-trained pediatric rheumatologist dedicated to serving children and families in the northwest Ohio region. A Toledo native, Dr. Crippen earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Michigan. She then pursued advanced subspecialty training in pediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery and New York - Presbyterian/Weill Cornell in New York City, where she also completed a master’s degree in health policy and economics.

Dr. Crippen’s clinical interests include juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and quality improvement in vaccination practices. She is also a passionate advocate for expanding access to care and has participated in national advocacy efforts through the American College of Rheumatology. Now back in Toledo, Dr. Crippen is deeply committed to improving access to specialized rheumatologic care for children across the region, ensuring that local families can receive the care they need close to home.
