Fall Festival in Linden Neighborhood Gives Community Chance to Celebrate with Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families

October 2, 2024

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Nationwide Children’s Hospital will celebrate the Linden community and inspire neighborhood wellness with a free, fall festival on Saturday, October 5.

Starting at 11 a.m., friends, family and residents of the Linden neighborhood are invited to this fall-themed event at the Linden Fresh Market with free food trucks, community resources, hair care, inflatables, games, giveaways and more. The Linden-McKinley High School marching band and cheerleaders will also perform.

“Our yearly Fall Festival provides a safe place for the neighborhood to connect and learn about local resources, while children get a chance for some fall fun,” said Nick Jones, vice president of community wellness at Nationwide Children’s. “Nationwide Children’s has been involved in this community for more than 25 years, so it is important to us to continue that strong partnership.”

The festival is part of Nationwide Children’s Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families initiative.

Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families started in 2008 with the goal of strengthening the health of neighborhoods, families and children by addressing factors that impact overall health, including affordable housing, education, health and wellness, community enrichment and economic development. This initiative provides families with resources and programs to improve community, family and children’s well-being.

Local organizations such as Remember Us Urban Legends, KIPP Columbus, City of Columbus – Department of Neighborhoods, We Are Linden, Linden Primary Care, Community of Caring Foundation and more will provide free resources for families. The Linden Fresh Market will remain open during regular business hours on the day of the Fall Festival.

This event will take place rain or shine, at the Linden Fresh Market, (1464 Cleveland Ave.). Free parking will be available at the COTA building (1390 Cleveland Ave.), a short walk from the Fresh Market.
