COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 15th annual Bull Run, presented by Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, benefitting Nationwide Children’s Hospital, will take place August 18 at the McFerson Commons (Arch Park) in the Arena District. Since the event’s inception in 2003, the Bull Run has raised more than $1 million for Nationwide Children’s. The Bull Run is the official training run for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon and 1/2 Marathon.
Participants of all ages can participate in the superhero-themed Kid’s Fun Run, 5K, or 10K while raising funds for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Siblings Support Clubhouse, a place for preschool and school-aged children to play and learn while their siblings are in the hospital, and Ocean Room, which is a free “toy store” where surgery patients can pick a toy to play or cuddle with post-surgery.
The Kid’s Fun Run will begin at 8:15 a.m., followed by the 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) races at 8:30 a.m.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and fees are $15 per person for the Kid’s Fun Run, $35 per person for the 5K and $45 per person for the 10K race. All prices will increase by $5 starting August 6 (for the 5K and 10K only).
Participants will receive a one-of-a kind Bull Run t-shirt and a unique participation medal. Complimentary light snacks and refreshments will be provided during the family-friendly activities before and after the race.
“We are truly grateful to have partners like Merrill Lynch and Bank of America,” said Amanda Dove, director of Corporate Partnerships, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Because of their support, we are able to provide services like the Siblings Clubhouse and the Ocean Room to our families when they come to Nationwide Children’s for treatment and care.”
