Pediatric Update Regional Conference Offered at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital

The 2010 Pediatric Update Regional Conference: Pediatric Specialty Focused on Primary Care, sponsored by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, will be held Saturday, September 11, at Our Lady Of Bellefonte Hospital Bellefonte Center.

Conference lecture topics include Piercings and Pearls: Vignettes from Practice; Pre-participation Sports Clearance/Sudden Death; Urinary Incontinence and Infections: When and How to Treat and When to Ignore; Pediatric Respiratory Failure; Pediatric Abdominal Pain: Wait, Treat or Worry; Pediatric Headaches: Case Based Discussion; and Preparing for Flu Season.

Presenters are Dennis J. Cunningham, MD, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Department of Infectious Disease; Jolanda M. Denham, MD, Nationwide Children’s Department of Gastroenterology; Marie D. Frazier, MD, Cabell Huntington Hospital Critical Care; V. Rama Jayanthi, MD, Nationwide Children’s Department of Urology; Patricia J. Kelly, MD, Cabell Huntington Hospital, Adolescent Medicine; A. Latif Khuhro, MD, Nationwide Children’s Department of Neurology; and Daniel G. Rowland, MD, Nationwide Children’s Heart Center.

The half-day conference is geared to pediatricians, family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals.   This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.  Nationwide Children’s is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  The Nationwide Children’s Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
