Donation Wish List

Donated items help create moments of joy and connection and make the hospital feel less scary for patients and families. Resources are used to create a sense of normalcy, support child development and coping, encourage family bonding, and provide opportunities for play and engagement throughout the hospital experience. Donations may be used to stock playrooms, provide bedside play, support special events, and provide resources for individualized therapeutic interventions.

The very best way to support our staff and children at Nationwide Children's is by purchasing items from our wish list which includes educational toys, games, and other items.

Items on our wish list:

  • Have been selected by Nationwide Children’s developmental experts.
  • Are the things that are most frequently needed/requested by patients.
  • Have been checked for quality and safety.
  • Reflect the selection of items we need, helping to keep our storage and disbursement efficient.
  • Help us protect the privacy and safety of our patients and families while allowing donated resources to be used where they can have the greatest impact.

Donation Guidelines

Your gifts from our wish list can be accepted via USPS, UPS, Amazon, FedEx, or by drop off. Items from the wish list can be purchased from any retailer – not exclusively from Amazon.

Non-wish list items are often re-directed to other organizations in the community that can more appropriately share the gift with a child.

Please do not include personal notes, labels, religious messages, or other materials with donated items.

Donations also cannot include references, stories, QR codes, or other materials connected to a specific patient, family, foundation, or memorial.

Please note that due to infection control and privacy issues, we do not have opportunities for donors to personally distribute donations to patients and families and are not able to accept any used items.

Let Us Do the Shopping

Child Life and PsychoSocial services throughout the hospital work hard to be creative in meeting the wide variety of needs of patients and their families. There is a significant need for monetary donations to purchase specialty toys, games, and resources that support patients and families throughout their hospital experience.

Your monetary donation allows the teams to optimize the value of your donation when purchasing items that fulfill unique needs for development, special populations, and infectious disease control, items not often found in stores.
