Project ECHO

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a tele-mentoring program that uses Zoom to connect community health care providers (participants) with specialists at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This model helps providers learn best practices to offer specialty care locally, reducing the need for travel or long specialist waitlists.

What to Expect in Each ECHO Session

  • Didactic Presentation: A specialist briefly presents evidence-based practices to improve patient care.
  • Case Study: A participant volunteer shares a de-identified case from their practice. Participants are highly encouraged to submit a case for discussion.
  • Engaging Discussion: Participants and specialists discuss the case study, ask questions and give recommendations. Participants receive a written summary of recommendations.
