Your First Williams Syndrome Clinic Visit

How long will my first appointment take?

Full team appointments take about 3 hours which include a short break. Parents are encouraged to bring snacks and toys to help occupy their child during ‘down times.’

  • Psychologist

  • Speech Pathologist

  • Occupational Therapist

  • Physical Therapist

  • Genetics Counselor

  • Nursing

  • Social Work

  • Music Therapist

  • Additional specialties can be made available by request

What services will be provided?

  • Comprehensive medical evaluation including recommended laboratory testing

  • Physical exam

  • Standardized testing by occupational therapist and physical therapist, if indicated

  • Standardized testing by speech/language therapist, if indicated

  • Standardized developmental/cognitive testing, if indicated

  • Personalized consultation regarding issues raised by the parent/child

  • Behavioral, educational, and therapeutic consultation/recommendations

What do I need to bring?

It would be helpful if you brought along the results of any school testing, as well as your child’s IEP or Early Intervention Plan. In addition, families are encouraged to bring along any medical records that they believe may be relevant. Prior to attending the clinic, the family will be asked to complete a Williams Syndrome Clinic Intake Form.
