Recreation and Development Program for Toddlers and Preschoolers
It’s important that little ones are active now to set an example for the rest of their lives. We’re here to give your little one a place to move, explore and learn in a safe, nurturing environment.
Led by a certified therapeutic recreation specialist, Pre-K Play encourages a healthy, active lifestyle for toddlers and preschoolers. It is a four-week program open to children ages 3 to 5 years old and takes place on Wednesday mornings for 75 minutes at the Phillip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany. Program cost is $40 per 4 week session. Parent attendance is required if your child is not potty trained.
Each session is filled with activities that focus on different learning skills – from balance and coordination, to using senses and developing concentration. Your little one will participate in an active obstacle course, arts and crafts, dancing, yoga, sports and more. These activities will help enhance your child’s growth, development and independence by teaching them different types of play, how to use their imagination and interact with others.
By attending this program, your child will:
- Engage in active play and movement to help develop motor skills for healthy growth
- Learn new skills for cognitive development through socializing and working together with other children
- Participate in planned activities that allow curiosity, creativity and exploration
