Specializations

Adolescent Neurologic Rehabilitation

We provide specialized neurological and adaptive training and rehabilitation for adolescents. Our expert team treats patients with acquired neurologic diagnoses and congenital neuromuscular diagnoses.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular Rehabilitation focuses on improving the relationship between the inner ear, brain, eyes, muscles and nerves. This type of therapy is typically used with post-concussion patients.

Hand Therapy

Our Hand Therapy program helps patients with injuries, strains, sprains, trauma or surgical procedures to their hands and arms return to optimal function, strength and range of motion.

Performing Arts Medicine

Our Sports Medicine physicians will evaluate for the common injuries seen in all athletes, as well as the injuries specific to young dancers and performers that use extreme ranges of motion.

Women's Health Program

Pelvic muscle rehabilitation focuses on improving function and addressing dysfunction of the musculature surrounding the pelvis. The goal is to stretch and strengthen pelvic muscles to help decrease pain, improve core strength, and return to sports, recreational and daily activities.

Partnerships

Ohio Dominican University

Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Department provides physical therapy services to all students and faculty of Ohio Dominican University.

Through this partnership, Nationwide Children's Sports and Orthopedic physical therapists provide patient care on Ohio Dominican’s campus to better meet the needs of all students on or around campus. In addition, therapy services are delivered to all student athletes who may be in need for individualized care. This distinctive opportunity allows physical therapist with a background in sports and orthopedics to:

  • Provide care in a setting that is comfortable and convenient for both traditional students and student athletes alike
  • Deliver patient care with improved communication between physicians, coaches and athletic trainers
  • Provide guidance on return to sports activities to ensure a safe return from injury

What to Expect:

A full physical therapy evaluation will be performed on campus at Ohio Dominican University. A physical therapist will assess the patient’s flexibility, strength, posture and movements. Following this assessment, an individualized plan will be created to address any deficits or limitations found. This plan of care will be established and discussed with the patient.
