Intermittent Skilled Nursing Program

Nationwide Children’s Hospital realizes that being in the privacy and comfort of your own home is very important to your child’s recovery. The Intermittent Skilled nursing staff makes that possible by providing in- home nursing visits to help your family transition from the hospital to your home. We provide specialized nursing care, usually on a short-term basis with most visits lasting less than four hours.

Our pediatric intermittent skilled nurses (ISN) provide a wide variety of skills to help care for your child and we offer physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to meet the needs of your entire family. Our staff works hard to schedule nursing visits around your busy schedule seven days a week. We also offer 24/7 assistance through a nurse line for families to call at any time with questions or concerns.

Our nursing staff takes the time to help parents and families understand their roles in caring for their children at home and we try to create an environment where you can become as independent as possible in your child’s care. Our goal at Nationwide Children’s Homecare is to provide the best medical care possible for your child, and to involve the entire family in decision making regarding your child’s plan of care and treatment.
