The Abigail Wexner Research Institute is a dynamic, collaborative, state-of-the-art environment for world-class research. We have been a top 10 National Institutes of Health-funded freestanding pediatric research institute for more than a decade.

In 2025, the National Institutes of Health funded 24% fewer grants than usual, affecting research organizations across the United States. Despite this reduction, Nationwide Children’s continued recruiting new faculty and investing in new areas of research that will benefit children locally and around the world.
