(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Nationwide Children’s Hospital has ranked in the top 10 and as the top employer in Ohio on Forbes’ 2025 “America’s Best Employers for Women” list.
Nationwide Children’s was recognized in the top 10 overall among 700 companies based on a survey of 140,000 women working for companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States. The hospital works to support its diverse workforce with benefits such as paid parental leave (available to all employees), adoption assistance (financial support helping to cover expenses like agency or placement fees, legal and court fees, transportation and lodging), fertility support (a medical benefit through health insurance and prescription drug plans), wellness programs, and an onsite child care center that currently serves more than 300 children of our employees.
“Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality and compassionate care to families in all walks of life,” said Lorina Wise, chief human resources officer at Nationwide Children’s. “Our One Team is the heart of how we provide care, women represent approximately 80 percent of our workforce, and continue to represent the majority of both our professional and management positions. Founded by a group of women volunteers 133 years ago, the hospital continues our mission of care.”
Survey respondents were asked how likely they were to recommend their current and previous employers, and if they would recommend any employers they knew through their industry or through family or friends, and to rate employers in areas such as working environment, pay equity and parental leave.
