COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital announced the 8th Annual Columbus Duck Race will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 17 at Genoa Park on the Scioto Mile. The annual event will benefit pediatric research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
The Development Board will again partner with The Columbus Food Truck Festival for this year’s Duck Race. Duck Racers will be available for purchase at the Food Truck Festival beginning Aug. 16 from 5-9 p.m. and 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. Duck Race booths will be located throughout the festival with a variety of children’s activities and crafts. Ducks are $5 each and there are additional purchase options: Family of Ducks - $25 (6 Racer Ducks); Flock of Ducks - $50 (12 Racer Ducks); Colony of Ducks - $100 (25 Racer Ducks); Gaggle of Ducks - $250 (60 Racer Ducks) and a Brood of Ducks - $500 (130 Racer Ducks.) Ducks also are available for purchase online now until midnight Thursday, Aug. 15 at www.ColumbusDuckRace.com.
New this year, the rubber ducks will make their way down a 300-foot giant slip ‘n slide in Genoa Park, which is located next to COSI.
One lucky duck will win a first-place prize of a $5,000 cash and the second-place prize winner will win $2,500 cash. The third-place duck winner will win $1,000 cash.
